My first Bodybuilding show was an AAU sponsored event in Nacogdoches, Texas in May of 1980 which, when the dust settled, found me in 2nd place in my respective classification…I was instantly hooked on lifting, competing, and all things training! 5 years later I actally won my first competition, taking the heavyweight division of the South Central United States Championships in Houston TX – August 1985.

Since that time, the years have seen me privileged to train in the disciplines of Martial Arts, Boxing, Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, and sundry other sports, many of which were simply to learn the correct mechanics, technique, etc., in order to be able to properly communicate these lessons to others in a “one on one” setting. Also in that time I have been blessed to work under some extremely accomplished folks and have been on the receiving end of some really good information and practice.

List of accomplishments:

  • 1985 NPC South Central United States Heavyweight bodybuilding Champion

I am currently a 5th generation “In Room” student under the tutelage of Master Eric Hung in the Cheng Ming Internal Martial Arts Association and just recently attained My Edged Weapons Dynamics Instructor Certification from Tuhan Salvador Morales – SMJ Martial Arts/Combatives. I teach 40-50 classes per week in the disciplines of Weight lifting…both competitive and recreational (Speed, agility, conditioning, HITT, etc.), Tai Chi, Hsing-I, and instructional self defense through all these mediums. I work with people of all ages but tend to gravitate toward Seniors and Women. Given the current social and political climate of our country, I feel this is entirely appropriate.
